Om workshoppen - Happy Joints

Yoga is a helpful practice to lengthen and strengthen our muscles. But what about our joints? Sometimes the static and repetitive movement patterns in yoga can put a lot of strain on knees, the Si joint and shoulders. In this workshop we will explore how you can approach your asana practice with a slightly different mind set and new range of movements in both virya vinyasa sequences as well as in investigating how the yogic philosophy grow from the western philosophical tradition.  

Virya yoga is a dynamic form of yoga, which focuses on biomechanics. In the systematically composed yoga series you will discover a tough, fun way to practice yoga that nourishes your mind with positive, philosophical themes in each and every class.

"Virya", in Sanskrit, means "enthusiasm", "energy", or "power", and the aim of Virya yoga is to empower and energize you. Enthusiasm comes with a delightful playfulness that will hopefully inspire you to explore the landscapes of your body and mind.

  • 17:00-19:30 The architecture of the forward folds
     
    Explore how triggering the right muscles around your hips can make forward folds healthier. No matter if you are a "forward folder" or find these asanas tricky: you will benefit from this in-depth workshop to understand the architecture of the forward folds.

Lørdag, 23. september 2017

  • 09:30-12:00 Brilliant backbends
     
    Find the yoga groove in this up-beat virya vinyasa sequence followed by an exploration of fun and healthy backbends through the gateways of these areas: shoulders and hips.
  • 14:00-16:30 New asana moves
     
    The hips are a centre area in our bodies. They provide both movement and stability. The shoulders on the other hand are quite instable joints and can, at the same time, give us a feeling of stiffness. How can we find easy ways to keep the hip joints, as well as the lower back, both flexible and stable with safe actions? Come and join new movements to add in your yoga practice.

Om Josephine Selander

Josephine Selander (E-RYT 500) has written her fifth and latest book on Yoga and ACT and how the two tools could support each other. Valued for her theoretical comprehension and positive spirit she has spent the last decade teaching and training aspiring yoga teachers. Using her knowledge and experience as a former dancer and over 15 years of yoga, she has together with a sports- and dance osteopath, developed Virya yoga, focusing on biomechanics and healthy movements.

Today, Josephine runs The Nordic Yoga Institute RYS  (Nordiska Yogainstitutet), which conduct trainings up to a 500 hours Yoga Alliance certification as well as doing her Masters in The History of Ideas at The Stockholm University.

Deltagere

For både Hatha, Astanga og Iyengar yoga elever. Vi anbefaler, at du har minimum tre måneders regelmæssig praksis i baggagen, men du behøver ikke være hverken super smidig eller super stærk for at deltage! Bare medbring et åbent sind og lyst til at eksperimentere.

 

Pris og booking

  1. Fuld weekend workshop, lørdag-søndag: 995 DKK (ca. 133 EUR)
  2. 2,5-timers sessions, lørdag og/eller søndag: 395 DKK pr. stk. (ca. 53 EUR)
