Dette er en enestående chance for at studere med David Swenson, en af verdens fremmeste udøvere af og instruktører i Astanga vinyasa yoga.

Weekend workshop - En guidet rundrejse i Astanga yogaens verden
 

Lørdag, 1. juli 2017

  • 09:00-11:00 Yoga Chikitsa: Primary series flow - Dancing with the breath in a first series rhythm

    This class is designed for those already familiar with the first series of Astanga vinyasa yoga yet it is open to all levels of proficiency from the daily-practicing aficionados to the novice fit-it-in-when-I-can weekend warriors and everyone in between. The class will be conducted like a choreographed dance flowing along all of the way from the opening sun salutations to the closing savasana. David will spend time at the beginning of class to introduce alternatives to some of the more challenging asanas as well as offer user-friendly vinyasa options. There will be time at the end of the flow to enjoy a soothing, deep relaxation. Required items: mat and breath!
  • 13:00-15:00 Really hip openings for the hips - A pleasant exploration of gentle methods to open the hips

    Tight hips can cause problems in other areas such as the knees and back. David has devised an approach of exploring the hips through slow and gentle movements, stable holding of postures and deep breathing which all combine to bring greater openness to the hips without forcing or pushing. To create stability David will share methods of activating one area in order to relax another. This balanced approach is both safe and effective and can be applied to other regions of the body as well. As always, David will manage to make this enjoyable experience. Bring those tight hips in for a tune-up!
  • 15:15-17:00 Breath, bandhas and pranayama - Seeking the unseen and experiencing the intangible

    Our first act of life as we enter this world is to inhale and our last act before departing is to exhale. Breath is our most elemental form of life and unites all of humanity yet we think little about it. The ancient yogis gave it great thought and in so doing developed intricate methods of harnessing breath to gain control of the mind and to see the world with greater clarity.

    This class will delve into the realms of specialized yogic breathing as well as the subtle and highly misunderstood internal energy valves known as bandhas. There is much confusion surrounding these mystical tools and the part they play in the regulation and control of pranic flow. David will share information he gained directly from K. Pattabhi Jois as well as a series of practical exercises he has developed himself to assist the practitioner in gaining a greater understanding of these subtle yet powerful energy gateways of yoga. David has an amazing ability to convey complex ideas in simple terms. All are sure to leave with new insights and useful tools for personal practice regardless of their system. Come and feel the prana!

  • 09:00-11:00 Half & half fun fest - Half first series and half second series makes for full fun

    This class is a talk-through of half of primary series and half of intermediate series. In Astanga the traditional approach for entering the intermediate series is to use the primary series as a yogic springboard to propel the student forward. There are many wonderful asanas in the intermediate series for strengthening and opening the back as well as the hips. Those that feel a bit uncertain about taking that first step into the realms of the intermediate series will find comfort in knowing that David always keeps it fun, safe and incredibly informative as he guides the group along in a compassionate and thoughtful manner using the first half of primary series as a wonderful gateway into intermediate. Come and experience the joy and wonder of exploring new asanas or deepening awareness and ability for the ones you are already familiar with!
  • 13:00-15:00 So you think you can balance? - A fun-filled exploration of not falling over

    Whether standing on our feet, hands, head or any other body part balance can be one of the most challenging aspects of practice. David will share his personal insights and methods of finding balance in an unstable world. The class will contain partner work as well as individual pursuits of balance in an array of asanas. Interestingly there are many parallels between the techniques used for physically balancing in our body and also in finding balance in our life. David has an amazing ability to convey complex ideas in a simple, fun and practical way. Regardless of what system of yoga one does there is sure to be a wealth of knowledge gained from this class that can be applied on the mat and in life. Falling is optional!
  • 15:15-17:00 Eight limbs and daily life - Ancient solutions for modern challenges

    Underlying the mysterious and complex philosophy of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras there is a truly profound simplicity that may be applied within the context of our daily lives. This class will discuss the eight limbs of Astanga yoga and explore their applications within the challenges of life. What is the use of philosophy without real application? We may memorize quotations or stanzas from great writings but unless we can apply them within the fabric of our life they are merely words spoken rather than knowledge realized. Real tools for real life!

David giver sikre og fornuftige alternativer til svære stillinger, så alle deltagere kan tilpasse praksis til eget niveau. Spørg os, hvis du er usikker på dit personlige niveau. 7-dags 'teacher training' / yogafordybelse

This 40-hour course is designed as an intensive immersion into the teaching techniques of the primary series of Astanga vinyasa yoga. The participants will learn safe and effective hands-on adjustments through partner work for all of the asanas, practicalities of conducting a class and yoga theory. This is a deep immersion into the details underlying the practice and teaching of Astanga vinyasa yoga. During the course all participants will be engaged in teaching and adjusting each other. It is fun and energizing. There is a wealth of invaluable knowledge to be learned and tools for practice to be taken away from this immersion course.

Deltagere, training

Du behøver ikke at være eller have intention om at blive yogalærer for at deltage. Mange har deltaget på tidligere 'trainings' for at udbygge og fordybe deres personlige praksis. Hvis du underviser i yoga, kan du dog her finde en mangfoldighed af værktøjer, som du kan dele med dine elever.

 

Deltagerne bør have en veletableret personlig Astanga vinyasa yoga praksis og forstå flowet og sekvensen af asanas. Dette kursus er ikke designet til at lære dig sekvensen, men til at lære dig at undervise i Astanga vinyasa yoga og til at fordybe en eksisterende praksis.

 

Som i alle andre kurser med David er der garanti for at få masser af grin og fornøjelse vævet ind i oplevelsen. Du vil lære mere, end du troede muligt på en uge, og samtidig have det rigtig sjovt undervejs. 

 

Om David Swenson

David begyndte at praktisere yoga i 1969 i en alder af 13 år. Hans ældre bror Doug var hans første lærer. De praktiserede hatha yoga fra alle de bøger, som de kunne finde. Davids introduktion til Astanga kom i 1973, da han mødte David Williams og Nancy Gilgoff i Encinitas, Californien. I 1975 inviterede David og Nancy for første gang Sri K. Pattabhi Jois til USA, og Swenson var så heldig at være med. Han begyndte derefter at studere direkte under K. Pattabhi Jois. Swenson tog første gang til Mysore i 1977 og lærte hele Astanga systemet sådan, som K. Pattabhi Jois oprindeligt underviste det.

 

David Swenson regnes for at være en af verdens fremmeste udøvere af og instruktører i Astanga vinyasa yoga. Læs mere på Ashtanga Yoga Productions
